Job-hunting's a bitch, ain't it? The only steady thing I 've got going on is planning, preparing, and actually doing this show for you, beloved listeners...and it's with absolute pleasure that I do so! Here's a gentle reminder that San Francisco's very own FILM SCHOOL has made it back to this West Coast and will be performing on Friday, 4/1/06 at Slim's in SF and the following day in La-La, excuse me, I mean L.A. at the Troubadour in West Hollywood.

Playlist-Menacing Intentions, March 21st, 2006

Update: No Ladytron tickets to give away this week (securing full-time employment can be quite time consuming, you know...). Don't surrender hope yet...i hope.

Dunno what's going on with Film School but so far so good as they'll be making it back to play here in SF on 3/31 at Slim's (after having been burglarized while on tour).

Lastly, I love horror films. I'd quite comfortably say I'm a fan. However, I don't love all and these days very few, if any, can manage to successfully creep me out (due in large part to a reliance on the overwrought "wizardy" of CGI, etc.) However, I caught the recent remake of "the Hills Have Eyes" this past weekend. I was successfully creeped out, I'm happy to report. (fyi)

Menacing Intentions...PLAYLIST for Tuesday, March 14th, 2006

O.K.
We've got two missions:
1. Help our local band, Film School, who are touring and were recently robbed in Pennsylvania (no knock on PA, shit stinks all over the U.S.). Here's a message direct the band themselves:

"3/8/06: Hello. As many of you have already heard, our van, the 2003 Ford Econoline we bought two days before we left for tour, was stolen with all our equipment in Philadelphia. Our van was parked in a well-lit, 24-hour attendant secured lot with a club on the steering wheel. Even though we did everything we could to keep this van safe and secured, the thieves sawed through the club, hotwired the van and drove it through the parking lot checkout fence. Pretty unbelievable. Unfortunately our van insurance does not cover theft and while some of our insurance might cover some of the gear, it will most likely be minimal. Thanks so much to all the support we've been getting from our friends, family and fans. Emails, myspace comments and articles, it's wonderful to feel like we're not alone in this. Also, because we're getting hit with some big costs here we've set up a paypal account for donations. If you are able to donate anything at all, we'd be extremely appreciative. Everything and anything at this point helps."

2. Get Ladytron tickets for an on-air giveaway to their upcoming show (late April, 2006 at Mezzanine)!
